ECM (Espresso Coffee Machines Co.), a Vancouver based company, has been in business since 1979 selling the Nuova Simonelli brand of espresso machines. A family business that started catering to a select market of European coffee bars on Commercial Drive.

After Expo ’86 there was an explosion of the espresso business. ECM was no longer limited just to coffee shops; the demand for household units increased so ECM brought in a domestic line of cappuccino machines.

Today ECM imports many quality Italian products for the food and hospitality industry. ECM is the distributor for: espresso equipment from Nuova Simonelli, Victoria Arduino, La Scala, V-Tech and Azkoyen; display cases from Italproget and Iarp; Tekna freezers; gelato equipment from Bravo, Musso, and Staff Ice System; Frigomeccanica bar counters; pizza dough equipment from IGF, pasta machines from Bottene, pasta cookers from Desco and ovens from Tranquili.
